    Toshiba Laptop Review (Windows 7)

Well I have had my new Toshiba L505D-S5983 laptop for about 2 whole days now and ill say that at this point I am…satisfied with it. It is by far not the best. It has given me quite a few problems so far but those are probably because of the newly released Windows 7 update that has a few bugs in it. I have noticed that my Internet Explorer and networking have been lagging or not working at all, but this could be my internet modem’s problems, not the laptop.

But now ill talk about the laptop itself. It has a sexy, not too thick, not too heavy structure. The design on the out-facing part of the screen is nice and has the typical “Toshiba” written across a glossy, plastic looking cover. It looks nice.

Once you open the screen you are faced with a 15.6” HD TruBrite Widescreen screen, which I have to say is bright and clear even on its lowest brightness setting. I like it. Below the screen you have a silver glossy nice graphite finished keyboard and 10-key and touch mouse device. The keys are huge compaired to my last 13”computer its much easier to type on.

The laptop has 2 USB drive ports and a wheel you can turn to raise or lower the sound volume, which comes in handy. It has an SD card reader in its front, which is a must. The speakers are the coolest looking little things ever. They sit at the top, between the keyboard and the screen. One on the left, one on the right. They have a silver speaker cover them, which I think makes them look 100x cooler. The power sits by itself just to the left of the center, between the speaker. Its just sort of there….alone. They could have definitely put it somewhere to make it look less out of place.

The computer has 3GB of ram and 320 GB HDD, just the right amount of memory I think. I mean more would obviously be better, but for its price of about $450 I think I got a pretty good machine.

Overall, the Toshiba L505D-S5983 is pretty nice of a computer for its low price point. I do recommend.

    Getting Braces Off FAQ

Ok so one major thing that i am super excited about that happened to me over the summer was that i got my braces off.

Now I know that as soon as I got out of the orthodontist appointment where he told me “next time and they’re coming off!” i got online to research many of my questions about getting them off and i found that many people had the same questions as i did, so I’ll call this FAQ.

Question 1) THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION, DOES GETTING YOUR BRACES OFF HURT?

No, getting the braces off themselves doesn’t hurt, and…well let me just say now that none of the many things that they cram into this one appointment hurt. At all. Now I will say that some of the things they did were a little uncomfortable to experience (like grinding the glue off my teeth or taking molds, but I’ll get into those later). But here’s the procedure for taking the braces off. Keep in mind i had what were called “Speed braces” or “self ligating” braces, and i do not know if different types of braces require different types of removal. But here it goes: (you’ll find there arent many steps, in fact its really easy) The orthodontist layed me back and began at my back teeth. He took this tool and put it around the brace itself, which sounds weird and awquard to do but it was really easy. He then just sqeased his hand and the brace and the glue snapped, and no it didnt go flying all around my mouth it stayed in place because they dont take the wire out before, so it all comes out in one piece. He put the tool around every brace and painlessly snipped the off easy as that. Once all the top row or all the bottom row was done being “snipped” he just used his fingers to pick one brace up and the whole row came out- easy as that. PAINLESS!! It’s so easy that this guy took his out all by his self. Here is the YouTube link.

Question 2) DOES GETTIN THE REMAINING GLUE “DRILLED” OFF YOUR TEETH HURT?

Again, no. Well, technically it doesn’t, but it does…well the only way i can explain it is that it occassionally sends pulses through your nervous that make my teeth fell sensitive, which i didnt like. I know that that whole thing probably didnt make sence, but that is the only way i can explain it. Ill say this, I am a closterphobic kind of guy and those sensitive pulses didnt bother me too much, so if i can bear through it, you can.

Lastly, Question 3) DOES IT FEEL WEIRD HAVING THEM OFF?

The answer to this one is tricky, the answer is yes and no. Some people say that your teeth feel slimy and gross, but felt no such thing. Maybe i was feeling it, but didnt know it, so no my teeth didnt feel weird. But you will have newfound confidence knowing that your teeth are straight. You will WANT to take pictures because you want to show them off, and because of the face that you yourself arent used to the sight of the new you, and you feel that you sorta look good.

    ok a few random things:

I like this video. It is one of a guy getting his off and it shows it in a really cool way. Supermac18 is pretty cool. check this out. (oh and he has a little trouble getting molds, but i had none at all)

And remember, you have your braces off, so smile! :D

I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW!

I had a nice, probably 300 word post almost ready to be published on the topic of Facebook vs. Myspace that was very well written and professional, but for some reason, when i messed up on a word and clicked the backspace button, the browser took the backspace click as a “back” button. (as in the back button in the top left corner of your browser which will bring you back to the site you were on before you got to the one you currently are on). So I ended up losing EVERY WORD that i had written, every tag i had tagged to the stupid post and EVERY MINUTE I SPENT WRITING AND RESEARCHING WASTED!

Oh well, I am over it, but that would have been a REALLY good post, but oh well, Tumblr’s loss, it would have been a honor for them to have that post on their site…

Oh and just to tell all of y’all, I went for Facebook. It’s way better.

    Totally Stressin’

Ok wow am i totally stressin’. Ok so i have been using Proactiv acne solutions i guess for about 2 weeks. They told me that Proactiv has to pull the acne from way deep in the skin to the top and destroy it then, which can take about 6-8 weeks, and i can understand that.

I was really okay with that and just ready to give it a try, so i ordered it and am using it faithfully, so faithfully I am nervous that my 30-day supply wont last that long. So twice a day, morning and night, I go through all three steps “to clearer skin” in hope that i have found the miracle answer to my mild acne.

Now I am really seeing the “it gets worse before it gets better”, and what makes the “worse” even worse is that “worse” just kicked in 2 days before my first day of high school.

I have a MASSIVE red bumb right in plain sight on the left side of my nose. But on the right side of my nose, i have blackheads, deep blackheads.

I almost (like you have no clue how close i was to it), well i ALMOST went off of routine and chanced burning the skin on my face by dabbing toothpaste on my bumps in hope that they would dissapear by morning, but i called my mom to ask her opinion and she gave me a little tough love by telling me that they told me it was gonna get worse and that i shouldnt put the toothpaste on, and just to trust Proactiv to do its job.

    It better….and soon….

I think this is really sad…but HILARIOUS!

Subway Fat Seats
Brazilian subways have installed “priority seating for obese people”, with helpful color-coding. Weird, I thought everyone in Brazil looked like Gisele.

    Meta-Blogging

    Me blogging, about blogging…

So u may be like me and are thinking, “Why do people blog?”. Well I know it’s cuz (1) some people are rich cuz of it, but for the VAST MAJORITY that aren’t paid a penny for it, why do they do it? Is it because they want people to hear their story? Is it because they have nothing better to do in their life, so they spend their time typing on a computer, or like me, on a iPhone? Is it because they think they may actually get an audience from their posts? Or is it simply because they WANT to? They need a safe place where they can type it all up. Where they can put it as public for the world to see, or they can turn their blog into a personal getaway, a journal where they can spill it all out and know that nobody will ever see it, or that the whole world could see it if they wanted it to…

So I guess only the blogger themselves knows their reason for blogging. And No matter what the reason is, a reason is a reason any way you look at it. So blog away and have fun everyone because your blog is a place where you can put just about anything, so live it up…

I'm Taylor, a high school freshmen from Texas who basically wants to learn all he can and be good at what he does. I am currently attempting to try to work on learning web design coding and such. I really never know what to say in these but I didn't want the description to be bare, so i think that about it. Oh I forgot to mention that i love my iPhone, which is where i will update my blog most of the time.
